Proud To Serve The Louisville Metro Area
A Successful Career Spanning Over Two Decades
The journey to my legal career began shortly after college, when I became a VISTA volunteer and assisted low-income tenants on New York City’s Lower East Side. After obtaining my master’s degree in social work, I made the decision at the age of 31 to attend law school and start a career to help people in a different way.
Today, I have been practicing for over 25 years and have helped countless families and individuals get the best start possible on the next chapter of their lives. I’ve been recognized with several honors and awards, including admittance to the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys in 2004 and recognition as the Louisville Bar Association Family Law Lawyer of the Year in 2002. In addition, for 15 years I have been selected for inclusion in the Kentucky Super Lawyers list every year since its inception, I have been AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell* since 2004 and I have been included in the list of Louisville Magazine Top Lawyers for several years.
How To Find The Right Divorce Attorney For You
Hiring the wrong lawyer can be the most expensive part of the divorce process. Many people think they’re saving money when they hire an attorney who charges less, but what they don’t know is that it will likely take that attorney more time and resources than an attorney who charges more upfront. But how do you know when you’ve found the right legal advocate? Some things to look for include:
- They will be responsive and communicative and respect your time.
- They will be honest and transparent with you.
- They try to find a solution outside of the courtroom before going to litigation.
- However, they aren’t afraid to fight for you if the issue goes to court.
I believe that the relationship you have with your divorce attorney needs to be comfortable and trusting, because the problems they will help you solve are personal. It’s important for you to feel like you can rely on the lawyer you choose to hire. Because of this, I offer a free consultation to new clients. Come in to my office to meet with me and determine if I’m a good fit for you.
Putting My Clients First Every Day
I consider myself a problem-solver first and a litigator second. My relationship with my clients is always a priority, and I work hard to build trust with them through clear communication and transparency. I believe that my job is to help my clients reach their goals and protect what’s most important to them, especially regarding their families. After over three decades of practicing family law, I can confidently say that the practice of law is, at its finest, when the lawyer appreciates the importance of the whole person, not just the statutes and rules.
